This great looking and very solid condition 1933 Ford Model 40 Henry Steel 3 Window Coupe from Reno, Nevada is in last stages for a complete and stripped bare restoration. The reason that his Model 40 is being sold is because of the condition of its current owner who is a veteran Hot Rodder from Reno. According to the shop that is currently working on the Model 40, this coupe is a multi-year project that started more than 10 years ago. The restoration is a stock style stripped bare project that has been handled only by top professionals.
The whistle straight Henry steel body has been coated with a Ford Folkstone Gray/Desert Sand finish. All of the body panels and components are Steel and all trims have been reworked. The coupe features a factory stock body, reproduction steel front fenders, and chrome grill assembly.
This Model 40 is powered by a 59AB Flathead V8 276 cubic inch engine that has been rebuilt and matched with Offenhauser “Offy” intake manifold & cylinder heads. It also features remote oil filter, dual Stromberg 97 carburetors, Mallory ignition, electric cooling fan, brass tank radiator, mini hi-torque starter, ceramic coated Tri-T headers, 12V generator conversion, and custom aircraft style dual exhaust.
The Flathead V8 is connected to a 39 manual transmission that directs the power to Lincoln gears and a reworked stock rear end with a 354 ratio. The coupe is mounted on a rebuilt factory 33 chassis and suspension that have been upgraded with 1940 Ford style hydraulic brakes, dropped front axle, dual reservoir master cylinder, front and rear gas shocks, factory torque tube that has been rebuilt, and factory spec multi-leaf rear and front buggy springs.
The interior looks great and can only be achieved by professional work. Soft Italian leather covers the interior that has vertical folds and French style stitches. The interior also features factory seat design with a lift up bottom cushion, factory door panels, stock dashboard finished in matte, a Banjo style steering wheel, wool OEM headliner, Haneline gauges mounted on the metal dash inserts, leather trimmed carpeting, turn signal indicators. The electronic parts are all connected by modern 12V wires.
This 1933 Ford Model 40 Henry Steel 3 window coupe is a very rare classic especially one that is in such a great condition and the $77,500 price tag is reasonable for such a classic ride. This coupe is ready to drive and with only some last touches need to complete the 10 year project.
