Heads up! Here’s the classic car collection of the King of Rock n Roll.
Aside from his timeless songs, Elvis Presley has a collection of expensive classic luxury cars.
Here are some of the greatest hits of Elvis’ garage.
1959 BMW 507
This car is one of the most collectible BMW. Unlike Jay Leno and Guy Fieri, Elvis Presley only appreciates expensive and luxurious vehicles. It’s really surprising to see a 1959 BMW 507 inside his garage. This car was not that expensive, it cost $7,000 or $60,000 if you convert it to today’s money.
Elvis Presley bought this car while he was touring in West Germany.
1956 Cadillac Eldorado
Here’s a fact about Elvis Presley, he loved Cadillac and Lincoln. He also prefered pink and purple because he didn’t like subdued colors. Did you know that?
Elvis Presley bought a white 1956 Cadillac Eldorado. He didn’t like its white color that is why he painted it with a shade of concord grape. Why did he choose a shade of concord grape? It’s because the King of Rock n Roll also likes grapes. (weird eh?)
1970 Mercedes-Benz 600
The king of Benzes was the perfect car for the King of Rock n Roll. Aside from Elvis Presley, fellow musicians and celebrities such as John Lennon, George Harrison, Hugh Hefner and Elizabeth Taylor own a Mercedes-Benz 600. Aside from those musicians, prominent people such as Pol Pot, Robert Mugabe, Fidel Castro, Idi Amin, The Shah of Iran, Kim Jong-II and Saddam Hussein own this luxurious vehicle.
Fictional characters including James Bond and Kamal Khan also owned Mercedes-Benz 600.
1973 Stutz Blackhawk
Elvis Presley loved Stutzes more than he loved Cadillacs; he had five Stutz inside his garage.
This car was built in Torino, Italy. It features a lot of shiny chrome, wood, leather and gold accents. It was ultimately built for rich peoples.
1961 Rolls-Royce Phantom V
Before Elvis bought the Mercedes-Benz 600, he bought a Rolls-Royce Phantom V.
The Rolls-Royce Phantom V was a rare car. This car was built for rich and important people during that time, from 1959 to 1968 only 500 Phantom V are created.
Rumors said that this car was repainted a number of times because Elvis’ mother’s chickens are pecking its body! ( I’m not even sure what that means!!)
1971 De Tomaso Pantera
This mid-engine sports car was a combination of American muscle and Italian sports car. Its design was heavily influenced by Italian sports cars while its power is from Ford 351 V-8. This car was sold via Lincoln-Mercury dealers.
Elvis Presley bought this car for Linda Thompson but he often used it as his daily driver. Elvis had used this car to the point where he became extremely annoyed of it.
Rumors have it that this car refused to start while Elvis was traveling to Memphis. Due to Elvis’ frustration, he shot a small caliber handgun through its open window with the bullet passing through its steering wheel. After the gun shot, the car easily started. ( that is some way to start a car)
