The Cadillac trademark long fins goes really well with leveled body. The 1960 Cadillac Eldorado was the last Cadillac Eldorado model to use a triple-barrel carburetors and later models used the less powerful engines of similar models. The air suspension as well was replaced after 1960 due to recurring leakage. The Biarritz together with the Seville Coupe was the more expensive package for the Eldorado, both were sold for $7401.

The top was under a metal cover when it was down giving the Biarritz a smooth continuous profile. The unique fins, that are smaller than the previous versions, completes the art that this car is. It is the result of years of perfecting the Cadillac signature. The 1960 Cadillac was the front runner for General Motors in the luxury cars section which beat the other competitors when it comes to style. But the design for the successful 1960 Cadillac Eldorado was not without any problems. The flashy chrome details and wide body features of the 1958 Cadillac was not well received well as they considered to be “too flashy and too heavy”.

The internal designers were in conflict that eventually made famous designer Harley Earl to retire from GMs styling studio. This gave way to Bill Mitchel, Dave Hollis, and Charles Jordan to design of what is now the 1960 Cadillac. The new Cadillac had a much cleaner profile and the details were less flashy, this theme was continued way into the 60s.
