This extreme resto mod build is based on the 1965-1966 Mustang Fastback. This Carbon body beast was made by the Ringbrothers founded by Jim and Mike Ring in Spring Green, Wisconsin. Jim and Mike Sing have been with cars since they were just 10 and 11. Now, they have a successful shop that has incorporated carbon fiber into most of their work. The ring brothers have mastered the use of carbon fiber and put their skills to the test in this awesome build. The body is not just a “carbon copy” of the original Fastback, its new carbon body has had some several changes to its details and the whole body is 4 inches wider making it a unique Ringbrothers design. The carbon body is then finished with a BASF Glasurit 90-Line Waterborne paint job specifically created for this build and appropriately name as “Spy Green”.
This particular 1965 Mustang Fastback’s body is built with purely carbon fiber and is named as the “Espionage”. This slick light bodied beauty’s international debut was at the 2015 SEMA Show with the BASF booth in Las Vegas together with other amazing and innovative builds.
The Espionage isn’t just for looks, it also has the performance needed to do “covert” missions. The hood hides a custom built engine by the Wegner Motorsports made just for the Espionage. A 427 cubic inch LS7 with a massive Whipple supercharger sleeps under the hood. When powered up produces a stunning 959 horsepower and a torque of 858 ft-lb, it probably won’t go quiet. The roaring engine is connected to a 6-speed Tremec T56 transmission and filled with the Royal Purple manual transmission fluid. The Centerforce DYAD Twin-Disc Clutch makes the shifting and driving fast speeds as smooth as James Bond due to its soft engagement and can hold high-torques. All that 959 horsepower is sent to the rear by a custom driveshaft that drives the rear Ford 9”. This beast breathes out to a custom 2” primary headers build by Ringbrothers into an exhaust system customized for the Espionage and finally to a Flowmaster Supper 44 Mufflers. To hold this much power, the brakes also need be heavy duty stop this beast. The Baer installed large 14-inch discs and 6S calipers in all wheels. The wheels are also customized specifically for the Espionage by HRE and fitted with Nitto Invo Tires with sizes of 295/35/18ZR at the front and 345/30/19ZR at the back.
If you want to have one of these babies, you can bring your 1965-1966 Mustang Fastback to the Ringbrothers garage and have it rebuilt or you can do the installations yourself and just by the body kits from them.
This build certainly amazing and it is no surprise than the Ringbrothers is rising to be one of the leading car builders in America.
